JDP senior Colin has been playing football and lacrosse most of his life. In football he's always been a a defensive end known for being fast, reliable and the man to get the job done on the field.
Colin is a tough guy and that makes him such an asset on the field. Unfortunately, for Colin a torn ACL can not be taped up to return to the field. He tore his ACL at a practice just days leading into his senior night.
Colin was convinced he would not miss senior night. He did not tell his parents because he knew he'd be headed directly to the doctors and pulled from senior night. Colin kept how bad the injury was to himself.
Meanwhile, the athletic trainer, with only part of the story said, "I can tape it up for you."
Colin has spent time as a baseball/lacrosse and football player. He's also a golfer and enjoys pushing himself to excel in the gym.
Colin's next steps involve studying to be a bio-medical engineer with the Army. His goal is to study congestive heart failure. He's motivated by losing his sweet Boston Terrier Clementine last year. He hopes to bring an end to early deaths in our beloved pets and people.
Colin closed out his time in the pool--it was early in the pool season and he was the first! The pool temp was in the 60s!!! But, he loves his mom and agreed to close out with a freezing memory making time!
We wish you all the best as you work to bring an end to congestive heart failure!
