JDP senior Devon lives and breathes artistry through her gentle spirit in a way that moves the viewer with all the emotion she's feeling as she dances.

This tender hearted young woman has a gentleness in her sprit that transcends the 'eat or be eaten' culture that she's surrounded by everyday of her life.  Somehow she's managed to keep her eyes wide open and full of wonder.  That is a beautiful thing to behold in Devon.

Devon's been dancing her whole life.  Ballet is her first love but she also splits time between jazz, tap and modern as well.  She appeared in her first Nutcracker performance when she was 7 years old and has been in 11 consecutive shows.

You'd think 11 Nutcracker's later Devon might start to weary of the show.  Not even close!  She's still incredibly excited for every single performance!  Her very favorite role has been as the Arabian.

Devon joined me for some time outside her regular session to incorporate this clay mask material into the costuming.  Boy did we make a mess, but also some incredible dance portraits combined with memories!

Devon dances at Carroll County Dance Center.  She's seen dance portraits on the walls for years from past dancers I created for.  She anticipated the day she would have her turn and I'm so grateful she became one of our JDP seniors!

Devon feels strong when she dances, which compels her to train to meet the rigorous demands of a ballerina.  She has two dogs, Dezi and Daisy who are the love of her life.  They were happy to join us in studio to create with their best girl!

Devon hopes to minor in dance in college and major in Physical Therapy.  Specifically, her goal is to work with injured dancers to help rehab them back into their pointe shoes!

What a blessing she will be to her patients!  Something tells me she may be rewarding patients who have done their rehab homework with a round of board game play--one of her favorite past times!  We wish you all the best dear one and keep that light shining bright!
