"Angel"..."Bearer of good news"...this is what JDP senior Evangeline's name means. She was the first miracle baby for her momma and daddy when her momma was told she would not be able to have children.

This messenger of goodness has been just that throughout her whole life. It's easy for the world to look at a young woman as beautiful as Evangeline and only see her outer beauty. But wow, wouldn't they be missing the much grander part of her that is the defining element of her life.

Evangeline is a Renaissance woman who approaches all her adventures in life with a grace and joyful expectation for what they might bring her. She sees the eternal value to elements of her life that elude most people. Anyone who knows Evangeline knows all about her expansive compassionate heart that aches to bring healing and help to those around her. When I asked her where this comes from in her life, she pointed to her sweet momma!

Evangeline is not reticent to try new things in life. Instead she embraces the opportunities and waits for the magic to unfurl from them. Evangline is a cheerleader (new to her) and a soccer player. Both of these she does for her high school. She's been in dance most of her life and at one time dreamed of being a ballerina.

Evangeline's love of music and dance combined to create a love of choreography. Her love of creating music began in 4th grade with the violin which then led her to guitar when she was in middle school. Today she plays guitar as much as she can and adores how life melts away when she is transported by the music. She enjoys just about all genres of music and her mom is happy to supply songs for her to learn. Her first song on the guitar was Stairway to Heaven.

Evangeline takes on new adventures with the aim of excellence but holding everything lightly to keep her light hearted approach to life. She travels annually for mission work in the Dominican Republic with her momma, she helps to guide her younger siblings and loves to lavish them with special treats along the way. Her life on mission has taught her small gestures of love make the biggest impacts on the lives around her.

Evangeline's momma was here for an Unveil your Cinderella portrait time about 10 years ago. I remember little Evangeline who came with her momma when it was time to pick up her order. I remember offering her Ferrero Rocher candies 10 yeas ago ...and doing so again when she came to studio, anticipating Ferrero Rocher candies again! Her momma wanted Evangeline to have the experience she had 10 years earlier and to leave feeling like a work of art, crafted by a God who loves her without measure.

Evangeline hopes to study marine biology in college next year. Her hope is that her career might change the world for the better, in even the smallest way, to honor the life of the sea. Evangeline is part mermaid, I'm pretty sure! She went into the waters when it was freezing that night!! I think she may have been in in the coldest temps in the pool and air ever for a JDP senior! She didn't complain, she just toughed it out to create the magic!

PJ Kuadey - I have tears in my eyes as I look at how this beautiful young lady has evolved! I have watched her grow from a little girl who was not sure if herself to a strong confident young lady! Evangeline has always been beautiful with the sweetest spirit ever and it has been captured beautifully here. I hope my daughter's senior picture experience can be this emotional and this powerful, next year!
