JDP senior Camryn senior year has had an unexpected twist. After much hard fought internal debate in her mind, she and her family made the decision to change high schools for her senior year.
This switch meant leaving behind her beloved team mates and friends from her FSK community to attend the largest high school in the county, Westminster. Camryn spoke about this with a real sadness in her countenance but an awareness that it would be the best move for her hoping to continue her soccer plans after graduation. Her brother faced the same decision several years ago so the family was not in unchartered waters.
Camryn's mom learned that the Westminster was well aware who Camryn was when she inquired about the potential move they were considering. The coach was very aware of who Camryn was! In fact, he had plays specifically designed around her speed and agility as a striker.
Camryn is a determined young woman. When she sets her mind to something, a betting person would put their money on her. If there's something she wants to learn, she'll pour in whatever hours required to make that happen. That's just what she did re juggling in soccer. To make varsity as a freshman, juggling was part of the requirement. Cut to Camryn learning how to juggle.
Camryn had a hat trick her 9th grade year. This was also the year she was worried she wouldn't make the team! She's had her first offer come in from Central Penn to play D3 soccer for them. She's optimistically hopeful that more will follow.
Camry's sister and mom joined her during her session. Seeing their smiles of delight and joy for their girl throughout the session was priceless. It's clear Camryn's been cheered on through this life! What a blessing indeed!
