Senior Portraits Editorial and Sunflower fields with Emma

Perhaps one of the sweetest things about owning a custom portrait studio is watching families grow up right before my eyes.  Year after year, the next seniors come, babies reach milestones and parents feel the acute squeeze of time slipping away from them. We partner to create time capsules for mommas and daddies to hold onto.

This is certainly true for JDP senior Emma.  She's been waiting patiently for her turn ever since her sister Alyssa was here several years ago. I met her via family maternity portraits several years ago when she was still a wee thing.  Today that wee thing is a stunning, statuesque young woman full of energy for life!

Emma has followed in Alyssa's footsteps with her love of softball and cheer.  Their sweet momma has been coaching the girls for years and is equally vested in their excellence as she is in their memory making while they compete.

Emma is a shopper!  So, it was our studio stylist Jill to the rescue to help us create this luxury shopping theme portrait!  Emma was pumped over the brands she brought and hopes to add these to her own collection one day!

The sunflower fields of the Stambaugh farm are featured in Emma's collection!  They so warmly welcomed us to create in their gorgeous fields!  I felt like I was stepping directly into Van Gogh's painting while we created!

There is a very real toughness built into Emma that has been born from her years as a competitive softball player and cheer leader.  Last February she broke her back during practice but was unaware at the time.  By the end of practice she was crying and her mom knew something was really wrong.

A CAT scan and an MRI revealed the broken back.  PT and rehab began immediately.  Today, she still feels the pain from her injury. However, the thought of folding up her time as a cheerleader never even occurred to her!  Emma loves it too much to leave it behind, so she's switching skills to continue her love for the sport!

Emma and her mom have made so many wonderful memories via cheerleading.  Her mom's been right there, every step of the way coaching and cheering her on!  Winning Rock the Beach and US finals were their two biggest competition wins that they recall with big grins!  May you continue to heal and rock this last season of cheer Emma!
