The people we surround ourselves with end up influencing who we become often far more than they ever realize. JDP senior Tatyana had a dear friend who she idolized who happened to play the flute. Taty decided she would play the flute as well 12 years ago.
Taty's decision to pick up a flute led to her involvement in marching band and symphonic band. She quickly fell in love with classical music which is no surprise given her love for classical things in life. She also started playing piano and sound herself on a classical tract with that as well.
Little did Taty know when she picked up that flute she'd be playing in venues as prestigious as Kennedy Center and Carnegie Hall one day! This was no happen stance/stroke of good luck on her part. This resulted from her serious commitment to grow herself as a musician. She attends music school on the weekends. Music school requires auditions to be accepted into the program.
Taty is a serious student at well. She is on pre-med tract in her high school work with a focus on chemistry. Her dream job is to one day be a dermatologist. If there's one thing clear about Taty's life, when she sets her mind to something, it's going to happen!
In addition to all this, somehow Taty has managed to pursue a competitive swimming tract as well! She LOVES swimming competitively! Her favorite events are the 100 & 200 breast stroke. Many of her favorite memories are attached to vibrant fall day meets at boarding schools with castles and incredible aquatic centers like Mercersburg Academy.
No senior portrait time would be complete for Taty without the furry little loves of her life, Simon and Ashi, her little shitzus. These precious nuggets made such a perfect addition for Tati. They were more than happy to try and steal the spotlight from their girl! While it was joyful for them to be a part, it was also a spotlight on her beloved Miki and Emily unfortunately passed away. Taty always assumed they would be a part of her senior portraits one day. Miki was born the same year as Taty, so her loss was particularly hard. Simon and Ashi teach us though, that joy and sorrow can coexist in this dance of life. Taty, may you continue to make the music that fuels this dance of life all the days of your life dear one!
