DiNello Family

It's always a challenge to fit family portrait sessions into our booking calendar, but I'm grateful when we are able to make it work for such an awesome family as the DiNellos! Paul, Erin Maddie and Lily are a family that radiate joy and laughter, making for an awesome portrait time!

The DiNellos are very acquainted with the value of professional portraits as Erin's dad, Bill Dowling, was a professional photographer. Sadly, the DiNellos lost Bill very quickly and long before his time, to a misdiagnosis. Bill began experiencing symptoms alerting him something was wrong in February; however an incorrect surgery sped up the progression of his ALS which was correctly diagnosed 7 months later.

Bill photographed Maddie and Lily as princesses over the years and lovingly brought their portrait dreams to life. However, the last time their little family was photographed together was by Bill in 2016. He passed away in 2017.

From the time of Bill's correct diagnosis, to his passing, was only 4 weeks. The family was devastated and walked through Bill's last days with the compassionate care of hospice. This led Erin to eventually help bring healing to her shattered heart by volunteering with Taste of Carroll, which is hosted to benefit hospice. The dignity that hospice brought to Bill's last days is something Erin will never forget and is so grateful for!

The DiNello family has such an awesome dynamic between them! They all share a love for acting in theater productions and all performed in Willy Wonka together. They made memories together that they cherish. The comical banter between the four of them is often rife with theatrical re-enactments, accented voices and attempts to crack one another up. It's their love language with one another and also happens to be a joy to anyone else getting to witness it.

While this banter was hilarious to witness, there was something that was even more special. The encouragement this family poured out on one another was a precious treasure to behold...a well spring of life sourced from an unselfish love that runs deep. DiNellos may you continue to laugh heartily, love deeply and cheer one another on in all you do, for all the days of your life, as you do today!
