There are time stamps in every young woman's life that she wants to remember vividly.  For Olivia, celebrating her quinceañera is one of those times.

Olivia and her mother had a lot of discussions re the traditions and expectations attached to a quinceañera.  Celebrating their cultural heritage is important to Olivia's family who hales from all over the world.  Olivia's mother is half Mexican and half Peruvian and her father is French. This family seamlessly blends multiple languages throughout their exchanges with one another.

Olivia has grown up embracing her Latin American and French heritage equally.  She spends her summers in France with family and even works while she summers there.  She's spent most of her childhood celebrating her Latin American heritage through folkloric dance training and performances.

At seven years old Olivia began ballet and then added folkloric dance when she was five.  Olivia loves blending the mesmerizing movement of the folkloric dresses with her ballet training.

Olivia loves performing as a dancer and the celebration of her heritage and culture that dance affords her.  This portrait time was designed to be a celebration of both her quinceañera and her talents as a dancer.

Olivia is a strong student who excels in the maths and sciences.  She has also joined ROTC with the hopes that this is the first step towards becoming a pilot.  She'd be tagging into her family history in doing so, as her great grandfather was a pilot in World War II and the French Algerian War.

In preparing for her portrait time, Olivia's cousin gave her a custom manicure with "15" on her nails to mark her quinceañera.  Her nails looked fabulous, even though they did mean a few demerits for having the forbidden long nails for her ROTC time.

Olivia, I wish you all the best in your dance training and celebrations!  In this next phase as you have your eyes on the prize to becoming a pilot, I can see you soaring high in the skies!  Your determination and focus will serve you well as you set out to achieve these goals!
