JDP senior Julia embraces life with a twinkle in her eyes and just a dash of mischief.
Her family laughed as they told me stories about how they can hear her yelling through the house as she's gaming on line. Whatever she does, she's going to bring a competitive spirit to.
That tenacity of spirit has served her well through life. It was requried of her at much to young of an age when she was in a battle for her life at just four years old. Julia began displaying troubling and confusing mannerisms. She was experiencing night sweats and leg pain. As the leg pain progressed she was unable to climb up on the counter stool like she'd been doing for a long time.
Her mom and dad were concerned and took her to the doctors. Well, of course that day Julia climbed right up on the table like nothing was wrong. Seemed like all was ok; only it wasn't.
Julia would be diagnosed with leukemia not long after this appointment. She was in treatment for 2 years and lost her hair 2x during her treatments. Of course her parents were concerned for her twin sister Adeline as well. Given they are identical twins, it's uncanny that Adeline had only a 25% chance of developing leukemia as well.
Fortunately for Julia, she doesn't really remember her diagnosis or treatment and all that was involved. However, it seems to me that fighting spirit and tenacity of will that runs deep in her veins was born through this very early fight for her life. It continues to serve her so well through life!
Julia brings her competative drive to her love of Nascar racing. She even raced quarter midget cards in Hagerstown for years. Even as a very little girl, she was fond of saying, "I wanna go fast!" Her dad just adores celebrating this with Julila!
Julia adores stepping into the fantasy worlds of Harry Potter and the world of the Renaissance. She adores spending time at the Renaissance Festivals and full regalia.
Time spent in nature is her happy spot in life. She's most at home in the outdoors exploring the gifts of nature through camping, hiking and hunting. She's bagged 3 deer so far and something tells me that number will continue to grow.
Family is everything to Julia's family. Her twin sister Adeline joined her for a segment to celebrate their bond. These two were a hoot together. However, what wins for most precious was watching mom and dad's reactions to seeing their girls together, thriving and approaching this big milestone! These time stamps grow in preciousness and they have so much to celebrate and thank the Lord for!
