Senior Portraits Athlete Trevor

JDP senior Trevor knows how important all things photo coverage are to his sweet mama. He'd call it obsessed, with a mischievous grin, but I'd beg to differ. I've seen it many times over the years. I'd call it the driving passion of mothers clinging to the last bits of childhood before their children fly. Click here for your own custom portraits!

When it was time for my 3 sons senior portraits, I warned them--this is my time to lock down all that I love about you. Likely, the next time you'll be professionally photographed will be your wedding day and that day is mostly about the bride. So, this is our time for me to have my own collection of what I always want to remember about you. The significance of these times is a perspective typically only available with the arrival of gray hairs.

Trevor laughed when I shared this. He knew full well his mama would not be waiting till his wedding day for the next installment of his life in their photographic legacy. To be fair, neither will my boys, but it is true of a lot of young men ;) So much of a teen's life resides on their phones and parents are not in possession of anything of significance from their teen years. That's where JDP shines and makes sure all mamas and daddies have a tangible lock down in portrait of this fleeting time.

Trevor attends Chapelgate Christian Academy, where his parents both met, attended and started dating years ago. Trevor has played soccer most of his life and does so for Chapelgate. He started playing lacrosse in 9th grade after a friend encouraged him to come check out the team. His friend was a fellow defender on the soccer team and recognized what an asset Trevor would be to the team. He was hooked immediately!

Trevor is a natural leader so it was no surprise when he was voted team captain last year. He's hoping to continue in that role in this season ahead. He's committed to making an impact wherever he throws in his lot and it's an added bonus that lacrosse rewards hitting hard! Trevor is the oldest of 3 boys so something tells me a life on the farm with brothers has provided a great training ground for this athlete.

While lacrosse has the lion's share of Trevor's love, soccer has provided him with ample preparation and memories. A championship win that went to double overtime leaving just 3 men on the field is one highlight he'll relive with his grandchildren one day!

Trevor's commitment to grow himself as an athlete led him to start throwing shot put last winter. He threw 31' at his first meet and it stands as his current PR. This commitment prepared him for his next commitment: to play lacrosse at Bridgewater College next fall! He's very excited to take his love of the game to Bridgewater and be a contributing member of their team! His mama cannot wait as well!

It's clear Trevor invests deeply wherever he goes in life and that includes his volunteer work. He started attending LifePoint Church a few years ago with a friend Andrew who also attends Chapelgate. Trevor jumped in serving in the 4-5th grade ministry Breakaway, helping to shepherd, guide and make memories with kids who look up to him. He feels like he's making a difference and learning so much about responsibility and I assure you he is.
