JDP senior Cara is 4 years younger than her old sister, former JDP senior Liv. So she's had years to dream of her upcoming special day! It’s so awesome to partner with great families to tell their stories in installments over the years. The excitement from Cara and her mom was palpable and that is fuel to my creative soul!
It’s clear how much Cara loves and adores her big sister Liv. She requested to wear this beautiful dress that's been in our studio wardrobe the last 4 years. Liv was one of the first JDP seniors to wear it. Click here to contact us re your own custom portraits.
Cara has an electric smile that lights up the room! She is determined and knows her mind which will serve her well through life! She plays lacrosse and field hockey for Man Val and that determination serves her and her team well on the fields!
And here’s the next time I just wanted to paint Cara…she should be hanging in a museum…Click here to contact us re your own custom portraits.
As an athlete, Cara has a great field IQ and is a team player. Opponents would say she’s a sneaky attack! She traipsed around on the fields watching her sister play for years before she got a stick in her hand. She knew at 4 years old she wanted to play and started to do so at 5 years old. This year her team won States which goes down as one of her favorite memories as a competitor. She’s held the role of captain and loves the leadership that calls out in her. The team atmosphere was comfortable with team mates feeling comfortable to talk with her about concerns. That’s a credit to her leadership style. Cara has worked hard to earn a spot in the National Honor Society. She hopes this will help with her desire to go south for college. She’s hoping for Old Miss, Auburn, USC or Florida to land her freshman feet in just a year!
Cara’s been dating JDP senior Conner throughout all of high school. It’s officially our 2nd JDP senior couple in matching years! (Cam and Lilah were our first last year). The parents adore the love story these two are building and chose to have a segment of their portrait time together. Click here to contact us re your own custom portraits.
Cara told me she was up for anything as we created and in her planning meeting. She also wanted to recreate Liv's portrait you see below. It's been requested many times since we first did it with Liv 4 years ago.
I had a new idea I wanted to put into play creating in the water, in a dress, on a backdrop…partial submersion…Vision for this was perfectly executed by Cara!!! What a delight you were to create with and for dear one!!
