JDP senior Amanda is an all things artistic production and performance girl through and through! What's astonishing is that this proclivity was evident even in her as a baby--she was just 6 weeks old and whistling in her crib!
So it was not surprising to her family when she began to vest in the world of theatre, vocal performances and dance. She was just three years old at her first dance class. She is here for it all and her joy on stage is palpable to the audience. Amanda exudes joy in her countenance in a way that is a precious jewel in our world where darkness screams the loudest.
Amanda drew inspiration from Zara Larsson's touring make up for her first iconic look! She is inspired by the joy of costuming and make up. This led her to assist in sewing costumes for productions. The just loves the entire scope of production that all comes together to make a performance. Amanda is the one who wants to stay to watch every facet and be as engaged with it all as possible.
Curiously, Amanda does not get stage fright. She pretty much just blacks out during performances and doesn't think about anything. She goes into beast mode executing her lines and recalls them with ease. She transitioned her love of theater life from her previous home in New Hampshire and wept at her last concert performance there. Endings are always hard.
No portrait time for Amanda would be complete without the inclusion of her precious little nuggets Baz and Bijou. These little cotton doodles were more than happy to put on a show for us!
Amanda set as a personal goal for herself to be in competition dance and theatre simultaneously during her senior year. This schedule is no joke: school day ends at 2:20, rehearsal till 4:30, then straight to dance till 9:00! Her love for this world makes it possible and it fuels the long days for her as a creative.
The lion's share of love for the dance world revolves around jazz and musical theatre for Amanda. She loves the animated facials expressions that are often missing from sad contemporary dance. I hope this is always a part of your world as you progress through life because it's clear it energizes you and makes this world a brighter place to be alive in!
